Please folks, realize your adopted dog will need to learn to mind his p's and q's. Dogs really learn very quickly. Trouble is, they learn the wrong things just as quickly as they learn the right things. It's your job, to make sure they learn those things that will make them the good canine citizen that they can be. If you are having problems with this, most areas have trainers that can help. So don't despair, if you think you have an impossible dog on your hands, check your yellow pages or call your humane society for a number of a trainer and give them a call. You'll be surprised at how soon you'll find, that you really do have one near perfect dog. They just need to be shown what's expected of them that's all.

    Pet Finder
At Petfinder you will find, as well as other Pet Info, an extensive list of Rescues and Shelters from all over the Country. In my list by County, I've included Links to The NY State Petfinder Sites

    World Animal Net
As I only provide links to those groups with web sites, this link should be helpful. Their lists, alphabetical by organization name, include groups that do not have web sites, as well as those that do. The link that I have provided here will take you to their New York State listings.
